B&B  Blossom Cottage - Rotorua New Zealand

30 December 2011

Blossom Cottage is a tribute to you and the NZ Qualmark Four Star system. The cottage is flexible enough to easily accommodate a family of five and it is central enough to access many North Island tourism spots in one day. It is also a fabulous, quiet retreat for a more sedate stay. Our Blossom Cottage stay has been superb. Well done and congratulations.

Don, Kath, Alastair, Meg and Andrew Mackenzie, Australia

Christmas Day, 2011

We so appreciate what you have created in this cottage. What a high standard of service and presentation. It is truly exceptional and personalised. It's a home away from home and we have felt nurtured after a busy time. You obviously really care about your guests. What a delightful surprise to find so many CLEAN toys for Sophie; she had fun with the dolls. The food was lovely, the Christmas decorations exquisite, and the presentation of everything very inspirational. You really are gifted in the role you play in touching people's lives in this way.

Thank you. Judy, Fraser, Sarah and Sophie, Whangarei, NZ

24 December 2011

What a wonderful time we've had at Blossom Cottage. It is even better than I had anticipated. The breakfast provisions and other treats were plentiful and delicious, the bedrooms comfortable, the dvds, toys and other entertainment a delightful surprise! Our two boys had a blast. They especially loved visiting the chooks and the bunnies (around 20 times a day!) I can't fault your cottage or your attention to detail. I hope you enjoy running the B&B and appreciate what a great experience you provide for travellers like us. I will definitely be recommending Blossom Cottage to anyone I know visiting this area.

Best wishes and 'tot ziens', Belinda, Luke, Conor and Liam de Jong

P.S. Thanks for the Christmas treat for the boys and the treats for us. How come those brownies taste 100 times better than mine???

17 December 2011

Relaxing, comfortable, attractive accommodation. We particularly appreciated the seclusion, privacy and peaceful location. This is the most comprehensively, well-appointed accommodation we have had in NZ and the attractive decor is made special by the quirky touches. We have enjoyed having a B&B which allows us to have breakfast just exactly when we feel ready for it. Thanks to the previous guest's comments, we went to the delightful Hamurana Springs and then on to Okere Falls - very inspiring and dramatic after the rain.

Is it really nearly Christmas?

Margaret and Azhar, UK

13 December 2011

Blossom Cottage has been a delightful place to recharge before the madness of Christmas. The home baking was a lovely treat to come back to at the end of a long day - a special touch which sets Blossom Cottage apart from the rest. Here are some comments from all members of the family about what we liked best about Blossom Cottage and Rotorua. The cottage: its pretty decor, the magazines, the baking, its tranquil setting, the chocolate brownies, the animals (Keno the donkey, hens,Teddy the cat and the lop-eared bunnies). Rotorua: Hamurana Springs, better than Rainbow or Fairy Springs and not touristy or commercial and completely free to the public. The walk around the Blue Lake, which is 1-2 hours, and The Luge at Skyline. Thanks again for a great stay that we all enjoyed.

Happy Christmas from Terry, Cathy, Amanda and Claudia Hall, NZ

24 November 2011

We arrived in a gale, but through the door we were welcomed by the charm and cosy comfort of Blossom Cottage. Every little thing has been carefully thought of, to an extent that we haven't found elsewhere. We were refreshed after a good night's sleep following the upheaval of moving house. Many thanks to Rene and Marianne.

13 November 2011

Thank you for such a fabulous place to base ourselves while we explore Rotorua. The cottage is so warm and cosy and the beds are so plush! We certainly slept well. The kids loved playing table tennis and enjoyed watching the chickens. We all LOVED the freshly baked treats. The muffins were a wonderful surprise. We all loved relaxing in the evenings and sitting outside in the mornings to have our breakfast. The fresh eggs were wonderful. We will be telling our friends and we hope to be back again.

With many thanks, Kolose, Julie, Zac and Taálili (Sydney, Australia)

8 November 2011

We enjoyed ourselves so much, we decided to book an extra night. We have seen and done a lot in and around Rotorua. You have really got something special and to sum it up.....FANTASTIC !! We will definitely recommend Blossom Cottage to others. The Mitai Maori Cultural Show was really enjoyable and we had a great evening.

2 November 2011

We've had 3 lovely days in your cottage. It was so quiet and yet pretty close to Rotorua. We enjoyed watching the birds on the deck and the cows in the paddock. It gave us a real holiday feeling. Added bonus were the hot tub and the baking. Yummy!

30 October 2011

We have just enjoyed our weekend at Blossom Cottage so much. Every detail has been considered, from the delicious home baking through to the gorgeous soft bathrobes. We loved the location, such a beautiful outlook and so tranquil and peaceful, too. We all agreed it is one of the most loveliest places we have stayed through all the years of our "girls' weekend aways" !!! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others.

A heartfelt thank you for our delightful stay at Blossom Cottage. What an enjoyable experience it has been! For us it was a '5 Star' luxury of all the little things that made it feel more like a home away from home. The hot tub, the robes, the endless towels, and treats of home baking, was the icing on the cake. The dvds and magazines made us slow down and relax, the hosts were delightful and interesting. Our first impression of the cottage was: Heaven, and then Heaven on Earth. The cottage was spotless and the shower ... fantastic! We appreciated all the info of local attractions and welcoming hospitality. Our girls appreciated the chooks, rabbits, trampoline and isolation to make lots of noise, and we enjoyed the countryside and endless hills of green. We even saw the lake after days of rain. Divine! This is the cosiest place we have ever stayed.

You may have inspired our future! Lindy, Glen, Asha & Amy, Perth, Australia.

A wonderful 4 days in Blossom Cottage for us and our children! The cottage is so comfortable, childfriendly, clean, gorgeous.Kept noticing more and more details as the days went by, so much thought has gone into anticipating the comfort of your guests. The kids, loved meeting and playing with the chickens and rabbits (thank you Kallista!) and the hot tub was a hit, too. Thank you for the blueberry muffins and brownies, and the great supply of towels!

Kind regards, The Kuipers family, Auckland.

August 7, 2011

For our wonderful trip in NZ for 12 days, we had droven a car from the South to the North Island and we picked Blossom Cottage to stay for the last day before going back to our country; Bangkok, Thailand. For a moment sawing your place for the first time, we were so suprised. What a cosy place! The decoration makes us feel comfortable like we live at home. Also, the surrounding and the chickens are lovely. For another surprising thing your brownies (or chocolate cake) and muffins are trully fantastic. We ate them all in just a minute, yummy ! Our trip is memorable and perfect by staying at Blossom Cottage. Thank you so much for a relaxing stay and your hospitality. Thumps Up.

Verasoontorn family, Bangkok, Thailand.

We loved everything about Blossom Cottage ! The views are breathtaking and the serenity of this magical place made us all happy. Most of all, your incredible hospitality made us feel at home. Thank you for all your thoughtfulness. Ben and Rebekah very much appreciated your trampoline, soccer ball and goal and especially meeting your animals with your lovely daughter! We will send others to your special B&B by sharing our fabulous experience on tripadvisor. Thank you.

Thank you very very much for a wonderful stay! The cottage is spotless, beautifully decorated and well equipped. You have made us feel extremely welcome. We particulary enjoyed the brownies and muffins and the girls have loved the chickens and bunnies. Collecting eggs with Marianne has been one of the highlights from the holiday for Jemima. Both girls loved the cases of toys. Thank you for the daily change of towels and cleaning - a lovely touch. We enjoyed the hot tub too. We leave with very happy memories.

We came to Blssom Cottage for some R&R and the cottage was everything we could have asked for. The peaceful surroundings, the cakes and great breakfast food was an added bonus. We also enjoyed soaking in the spa after a day of sightseeing in Rotorua. We will definitely recommend Blossom Cottage to our traveller friends, we hope to return. God bless.

Enjoyed our 2 night stay in this warm, comfortable & welcoming cottage. The linen, baking, spa & movies & magazines made it special. So much better than a motel experience and greater value. Recommend a drive around the lake to other travellers.Thank you for your thoughtfulness & hospitality.

How lovely to sit outside on the sunny terrace for breakfast, observe the birds and the sky over green meadows and dark forest. Thank you for a lovely stay at Blossom Cottage, Marianne & Rene. You do have a bit of paradise here. The presentation and all the small touches make the stay even more comfortable. The breakfast was all you could wish for & more, and even when the southerly blew up, the heatpump kept the cottage lovely & warm.

Best wishes

Thanks for having us over a very wet Easter Weekend. We had a fantastic stay and really enjoyed our days at Blossom Cottage. Blossom Cottage exceeded our expectations by far. It was a luxury to stay at such a cosy cottage, with panoramic views of the lake and surrounding countryside. The attention to detail and added luxuries from the hosts made for a perfect stay. We will definitely return and would recommending Blossom Cottage to our friends in Auckland and beyond.

Alan, Laura and Kath, Auckland, NZ.

March 18, 2011

As promised not quite a year ago, we're back. And this time for two weeks. As usual it's so nice to arrive to yummy chocolate & muffins. Not forgetting breakfast provisions. The cottage is as we remembered it, .....just utterly lovely and relaxing, only this time there is the extra added bonus of a spa/hot tub and not forgetting a washing machine.Thank you! We looked forward to gettingback to the cottage after a day of activities, where we could lounge about doing nothing. Fun activities include mini golf, agroventures, The Redwoods (great for off road running & cycling) and eating out. Talking about eating out, Abracadabra: highly recommended, has very delicious food. There is an ice cream parlour at the end of Tutenekai Street which also sells American Hotdogs -recommended. Ambiance: awful service, triple 1 five: very expensive bland food, Nurdari:oke Italian, Katsubi on Eruera Street: mediocre sushi, Ambroso: tastless Latin American cuisine, Hell's Pizza: better than Pizza Hut & Dominos. They also do gluten-free pizza,Pig & Whistle: recommended, large servings, yummy food & nice atmosphere. Lone Star: nice environment, excellent & friendly staff, recommended, like the staff at Pig & Whistle, delicious food.Well it's been a lovely relaxing two weeks. Thanks again Marianne & Rene, for being wonderful hosts!

Ben & Emely, Masterton, NZ.

March 16, 2011

Blossom Cottage truly is a little piece of paradise! We were blessed with sunshine on our visit, and waking up this morning to the sound of the birds, the early morning mist over the line of trees in the distance, the dew on the green grass and the blissful sound of silence, was wonderful. We opened the sitting room curtains and were greeted by the sight of gentle, gorgeous young steers, munching on the meadow grass and exuding calm and serenity. What a perfect start to the day. Your cottage lacks for nothing - the attention to detail is both  unusual and remarkable. Every comfort is available, from supplies for breakfast, stunning quilts, soft white gowns, a high pressure shower, books, magazines, an outside table & chairs for meals, fluffy white towels, therapeutic spa and helpful and friendly hosts.

The two sisters, Jenny, UK and Ingrid, NZ.

March 13, 2011

Dear Marianne & Rene

What a perfect haven you have created. The evidence that you are well travelled shines through in the fact you have provided everything a person or family could need or even wish for, and more. What an amazing selection of books, DVD's and games absolutely something for everybody. The breakfast provisions were wonderful and it was lovely to be able to sit down with a cuppa and one of your home baked cookies upon arrival, after our long drive. I could write pages on the wondeful decor and ambience  of Blossom Cottage, not to mention the divine smell of the toiletries provided, but I will leave room for others. I know there will be many more compliments.

Mitzi & Charlie, Paraparaumu, NZ.

What a totally beautiful and relaxing place Blossom Cottage is! From the moment we stepped in side we were blown away by all the amazing little details that put this stay above all the other places we have stayed during our tour of NZ. Somehow you have managed to create the feeling of luxurious rest for us adults, whilst proving a plethora of activities to amuse the children. There is a great feeling of privacy but also very approachable hosts. Thank you so much.

We really enjoyed our time in Rotorua and Blossom Cottage. The attention to detail is very impressive, the Pijnakers seem to have thought of everything. And, the hot tub is the frosting on the cherry on the icing of the cake! speaking of cakes, the homebaking was lovely. We loved seeing the baby rabbits and our 4 year old daughter now wants to be a farm girl when she grows up after helping to collect the eggs. Best B&B we have ever stayed at!

Finding Blossom Cottage on the internet as a place to stay was a real bonus! The beautiful countryside and ambient cottage has given us an insight as to what it would be like to live in New Zealand.Being a cook, I was impressed with your well appointed kitchen, especially having a sharp knife at hand – usually lacking.Loved the decor and attention to detail, being a devotee of Country Style.Blossom Cottage is truly a home away from home, with the freshly baked goodies on arrival and the little personal touches. As for the spa, a wonderful relaxing soak after a days outing crammed full a activity. Will spread the word in Australia to our prospective traveling friends.

Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Wilson Family, Perth, Australia.

Thank you for a wonderful stay at Blossom Cottage. From the moment we arrived to a very warm welcome - lovely fresh bread and cakes - we felt at home. The cottage is idyllic, both in setting and decor. We've been very lucky with sunshine and in our time here we've visited many places - from the Lord of The Rings film set at Matamata to the Polynesian Spa, The luge to Hell's Gate! The best part though has been coming back to Blossom Cottage for peace and tranquility. We've had a lovely relaxing time here - and only wish we could stay longer! Thank you and wishing you lots of success with your gorgeous B&B.

 21 March, 2010

We stayed in the Blossom cottage in March and were one of the first guests. We really liked the European Style, the cottage has definitely got style. The beds are very comfortable and you can feel the quality of the bedlinen. The cottage is selfcontained which we liked. There was plenty of food in the fridge and yummy eggs. The setting is very tranquil. You feel like you are in the middle of nowhere but it is still very close to Rotorua. We loved it and stayed a little bit longer than planned.... We'll be back, definitely! Thank you Marianne and Rene, you're fantastic hosts.

Daniel & Leontine Rutten, Hastings, NZ.

 2 February, 2010

For anyone wanting a wonderful environment to stay in - this is the place for you. Nothing has been spared to ensure your comfort, there is everything you will need for a short or long stay. The beds are so comfortable with top quality sheets and duvets that I don't think you would find in some of the most expensive hotels in the country. The bathrobes make you feel like royalty they are so soft. If the peace and quiet and the rural view is not enough for you there are DVD's, books and games to amuse you. The breakfast was more than we could eat and plenty of variety. The hosts went out of their way to make sure our stay was enjoyable. We did not want to leave and we will certainly be back.‎

Joseph & Jacqui Dol, Wellington, NZ.
